Knowing that in order to be successful in business these days, companies needed a strong social media presence. So in late 2023, Petkinns created an account on Instagram and attempted to build a following. However, without any product to sell, there were only so many posts one could create about the company mission, and goals.
In an attempt to build an audience, the marketing team at Petkinns took to reposting old Cat Commercials from the 90's. During the month of December 2023, Petkinns posted 1 commercial a week, and just like that, we had over 6000 followers!
At first, we started off posting cat litter commercials, but when we saw the attention we were getting, we expanded to cat related commercials, always giving credit to the original company, timeframe, and citing and factoids we could find about the commercial.
Thanks to the brilliant marketing teams of the 80's/90's/2000's, we had lots of great content, and some of those videos sparked joy and nostalgia, as well as flash backs, to many who remembered seeing the same commercials as a child.
In some cases, we even helped resolve some life long mysteries, such as "where the meow mix song ACTUALLY came from".
And with a growing audience, we were able to plug into the algorithm, and were set for the launch of our first major marketing campaign, the release of SOYSAND on Kickstarter!
